TEMPLE RULES

1. Each member and Devotee visiting the Temple must observe the Temple Rules.

2. It is recommended and would be appreciated if all devotees dress in an appropriate manner. For Men, this would include Trousers and Shirt, or traditional Hindu attire. For Women, this would include Sari, Salwar Kamiz or appropriate demure clothing. Women are also requested to include a head covering such as a chuni or duppata. For Girls, this would include a long dress, Salwar Kamiz or appropriate demure clothing.

3. Whilst a pravachan is in progress, please refrain from engaging in acts that may distract the concentration of other devotees, such as speaking in loud voices. Should you wish to engage in any other activity that is distracting, please wait until the pravachan is finished or remain outside the temple itself. Please maintain silence in and around the temple when a pravachan is in progress so that other devotees are not disturbed.

4. No food or drink shall be taken or consumed inside the temple except Prashad and charanamrit served inside the temple by the priest, unless approved by the Management committee and the Priest.

5. Please turn your mobile phones off or place them on silent mode whilst inside the temple. if you wish to take a call, please take the phone call outside of the temple.

6. No inappropriate or loud music shall be played at the temple or on its grounds.

7. Please remove your shoes prior to entering the temple and leave on shoe racks at the temple entrance.

8. No pets are permitted on any part of the temple complex.

9. All food served at the temple shall be sattvik (vegetarian with no garlic and onions), nonsattvik is not allowed at the temple or on its grounds. Only food prepared at the sattvik temple shall be served at the temple, except where prior written approval has been obtained from the Hindu Mandir Association Management.

10. Smoking, vaping and the consumption of alcohol at the temple complex is prohibited as is entering the temple and its grounds in an intoxicated state.

11. Please refrain from use of language that may be deemed to be abusive or offensive.

12. Conduct in and around the temple conforming to the purity of the temple should be preserved at all times.

13. No posters, announcements or advertisements shall be placed or displayed, without prior written permission from the Hindu Mandir Association Management.

14. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times and must ensure that children do not cause any disturbance or damage to the premises. The Hindu Mandir Association Management will not be responsible due to the negligence of the parents.

15. Children are not permitted the hawan kund area without the permission of priests.

16. Any instruments inside the temple will only be used and played at the direction of the management committee, to ensure that there is fair participation for all devotees.

17. Please dispose of any rubbish in the rubbish bins provided.

18. The temple is a place for the community and the management committee appreciates the support of all devotees. Any acts of service (sewa) you can provide to the temple are valuable. This includes helping in the clean up after meals, cleaning in and around the temple and other such jobs.

19. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please put them in writing in the Suggestion Box provided, or alternatively send your written correspondence addressed to the Secretary.

20. Any funds collected at functions or Poojas held at the Temple by devotees, members, groups or associations , are Temple Funds and revenue and are to be remitted to the Temple without deduction.

PRIVATE FUNCTIONS

21. The devotee who has booked an event in the temple shall be solely and fully responsible for all actions, behaviour and conduct of all their guests and invited visitors at the temple premises.

22. The devotee who books the temple for an event is required to properly clean the temple carpet, kitchen, dining area, the refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, sinks, benchtops and all pots and utensils used at the function.

DISCLAIMER

23. Although the management committee will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of all visitors and devotees, all users must assume the full responsibility of their actions and conduct whilst at the temple premises. The management or the Association will not under any circumstance whatsoever be responsible or liable for any injury or damage caused to or suffered by anyone or their property at any time whilst at or around the temple’s premises.
